Mud motors have come a long way the past ten years.  One of the most important improvements welcomed by hunters and fisherman was the introduction of the large block Vanguard 29, 31 and 35 horse engines four years ago. Today these amazingly dependable and strong engines dominate the backwater motor industry allowing customers to push larger boats and loads like never before.

This year BPS is proud to introduce a full line of after-market performance parts and kits designed to enhance the power of Vanguard engine.  If you like power - just bolt one of these kits on to your mud motor and you will instantly feel more aggressive throttle response, better mid range and enhanced top end speeds.

BPS will again offer the four most powerful mud motors.  Included in the offering is the HD 4000 Twin Carb (stock 35 with twin carbs), the HD 45 Mag and the impressive HD 6000 & HD 7000 Twin Carb engines.

We now have the new large block Vanguard CDI engines.  Combined with our Iron Mountain Heads, BPS stainless valves and roller rockers, the single carb Black Death 4500 and twin carb Black Death 5500 (note - the price of these engines will increase after May 30, 2010.)  These engines exhibit outstanding low end power, top end speeds and are exceptionally smooth and quiet.  The 4500 has our new BPS cast intake manifold.

 The HD 4000 is a stock large block Vanguard with twin carbs.  This amazing engine uses the 45 gears and on smaller boats runs with the larger engines. We use the horizontal large block Vanguard for this model.

If you want more power for larger boats and loads, check out the legendary Mag 45.  This is the third year for this powerhouse.  The engine has roller rockers, cam, billet piston rods, hardened push rods and a small carb modification.  Add the single 45 mm Mikuni carb kit and this motor becomes the HD 5000. The carb kit adds better acceleration, hole shots, mid range and a small top end increase. The HD 5000 is a gem.  Available in vertical and horizontal large Van blocks.

If you want it all, check out the HD 6000 and HD7000.  Basically it is a Mag 45 with twin 30 mm Mikuni VM round slide carbs.  These engine flat out haul. They weigh the same as a stock 35 Vanguard and can be run on boats as small as 16 foot and as large as 22 foot.
